Well, hi there and happy summer! It’s been quiet around here lately and I apologize for that. I needed a little break with all that life has thrown our way recently. I needed to take a step back and focus on what matters most – my little family. Anyway, I’m feeling recharged and ready to roll so let’s do it! Today I thought it would be fun to share my favorite things for June, which focuses on our staycation this summer. Between the baby, my dad’s cancer and his passing, the pandemic and everything else going on, our family is excited to make the best of staying at home and recharging.
Below you will find things that we have been enjoying or using a lot during our staycation. Our oldest daughter recently turned three and we’re excited to introduce her to the magic of summer: homemade ice cream, smores, sprinklers and more! So you’ll find some fun and nostalgic outdoor activities to do that are sure to be instant family traditions.
You will also find some useful tools that have helped us during the pandemic. We usually cook most meals at home anyway, but now EVERY single meal is being prepared and served up in our kitchen. You will find some tools that have been working overtime in our house ever since March, including a coffee subscription and my favorite pantry staples and health food delivery company. We still have a grocery shortage on certain items in our area and I’ve been able to find everything I need at an excellent price at Thrive Market!
I hope you find these items useful!
Cheers!
This is hands down our favorite ice cream maker. We’ve had it for over ten years and it still works like a charm. Once you go homemade, it’s hard to go back to store bought ice cream!
I love these classic sturdy enamel bowls for eating our homemade ice cream. We will definitely be using these all summer long, plus they stack great for easy storage when not in use!
Summer is for living outdoors and this tray is perfect to load up food and drinks for dining alfresco!
We live outdoors almost year-round so it's fun to have lawn games like our cornhole boards ready to enjoy. These are always a hit with our guests too!
I’m excited about using an outdoor projector this summer! Our daughter is starting to get into watching some movies every once and awhile and I thought it would be fun to set up a drive-in movie theater outside, complete with DIY cardboard cars and a snack shack.
Ginormous Inflatable Unicorn Sprinkler
My sister gave my daughter this 6 ft tall unicorn sprinkler and it’s been a hit all month long! It’s easy to inflate with a portable air pump.
Nothing says summer like roasting marshmallows over a campfire! We’re excited to introduce our three year old to s’mores using these roasting sticks.
Ahh, coffee! #momlife. We decided to upgrade our daily coffee to illy since we’ve been stuck at home. Nothing beats a good strong cup of coffee and now I have it delivered right to my door. Get 20% off + Free Shipping when you sign up for a subscription service!
I get all of my favorite pantry staples and health foods from Thrive Market at wholesale cost. Thrive Market is an online grocery store that has everything from diapers and wipes to sauces and spices. You'll love their unique selection of items! Get 25% off your first order by clicking here.
Venice Pro Ceramic Non-Stick Frypan, 12-Inch
This is the BEST non-stick pan you're ever going to need! The perfect pan for things like scrambled eggs and omelets - it's healthy ceramic nonstick coating makes for effortless cleanup.
We’re been baking and baking and baking these days and nothing beats the workhorse of our KitchenAid mixer! I use this mixer almost every day and am so thankful to have a tool that not only mixes, but with the many different attachments, I can do so much more!
