Hello and welcome! We live on a farm in Northern California where we enjoy a hard day’s work (really, we do!), home cooked meals and preserving the past. Oh yeah, we’re rebuilding a new (old) Farmhouse too! I created this blog as a way to journal our Farmhouse build and collect our family-favorite recipes.
What’s a new (old) Farmhouse you might ask? Well, it’s a NEW farm-style house with a lot of old soul. My husband (the Farmer) and I both love old: houses, family history, antiques, recipes, dogs…so it comes as a surprise to people who know us that we are building a brand-spankin' new house. Just kidding! We pivoted and are rebuilding the ORIGINAL family farmhouse. Find more about that journey here.
Our new old Farmhouse will be filled with old: beams from the family barn, hand-me-down antiques, and grandma’s recipes – but with new electrical, plumbing, studs, foundation, etc. – which isn’t so bad.
This blog will also serve as a collection of our family-favorite recipes. We are fortunate to live in a place where seasonal produce is abundant almost year-round. The recipes you find here are inspired by seasonal ingredients, large family gatherings and recipes passed down between generations.
Thank you for visiting Home Sweet Farm Home! We hope that you’ll be inspired to savor life’s simple things!
