Farmhouse 4th of July

I’ve always been drawn to the 4th of July. I think it’s because of the simplicity that comes along with it, the celebration of our nation and it’s always been a favorite holiday for my family. My perfect 4th of July at our farmhouse involves good food, kids running around in the sprinkler, old-fashioned lawn games, lots of porch sitting, and visiting with our friends and family.

Farmhouse 4th of July

Typically, my husband and I host a big Independence Day shindig every other year. The years that we are not hosting, we usually go back to my hometown for a spectacular small-town celebration. This is our year to stay home and host, and I am looking at changing our decor up a bit. Usually, I would go all out with decorations, but with life being a little extra crazy right now, I’m looking to simplify where I can. Plus, in preparation of some significant changes coming soon (more on that later), I’m hoping to use some things that we already have around the house, so I don’t have to think about where to store another piece of décor in our temporary home!

So today I’m sharing my favorite Farmhouse 4th of July inspiration with you in hopes that you feel encouraged to pull out your patriotic décor or use what you have around your house to add some festive touches for the holiday. But, in case you don’t have any red, white and blue lying around your home, I’m also sharing some inexpensive, yet festive, Amazon Prime (woohoo for 2-day shipping) Farmhouse 4th of July décor items that will help get your home ready for the holiday with little to no planning! I hope you have a relaxing and fun 4th!

Hi! I'm Shannon and I live on a farm in Northern California where we enjoy a hard day’s work, home cooked meals and preserving the past. Oh yeah, we’re building a new (old) Farmhouse too! I created this blog as a way to journal our Farmhouse build and collect our family-favorite recipes.
