Cream Cheese Fruit Dip Recipe FAQs

How to soften cream cheese

There are a few methods you can use to soften cream cheese:

Leave it at room temperature: Take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator and leave it at room temperature for about 30 minutes to an hour. The time required may vary depending on the temperature of your kitchen.

Microwave it: Remove the cream cheese from its packaging and place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 15 seconds at a time, checking the consistency after each interval. Repeat until the cream cheese is soft but not melted.

Warm water method: Take a large bowl and fill it with warm water. Place cream cheese into a zip-top bag and seal. Place the sealed cream cheese package into the bowl, making sure it's completely submerged. Allow the cream cheese to sit in the water for about 10 to 15 minutes or until it's softened to your desired consistency.
